The Results Are In: Which Asian City Leads the Way In Wine?

The question of last week’s poll was “Which Asian city has the greatest potential for growth in wine over the next 2 years?”

Out of 135 results, 47 percent of voters opted for Shanghai, with only 10 percent guessing the correct answer. Many of you may find the results somewhat surprising:

According to IWSR May 2010 Report on wine consumption in Asia, the country that is expected to have the highest percentage of growth is India, followed by Hong Kong, then South Korea, then China and finally Taiwan as a distant fifth. Thus the correct answer to the poll was Mumbai. If the question was about the potential growth of fine wine consumption specifically, then the answer would be Hong Kong.
