Michelin restaurants embrace BYOB

Times must be tough. Recent reports by The Guardian show that Michelin star restaurants in London are allowing customers to bring their own wines. A BYO club specifically designed to target Michelin restaurants has already signed up 50 restaurants, who are eager to turn more tables. Sounds like a great deal for wine lovers, but also an unusual one, considering Western countries traditionally make most sales off alcohol not food. These restaurants seem to be taking on the Asian approach of less wine sales and higher turnover of customers. Will the waiters at these fine dining establishments be pushing customers out the door before they have finished their desserts?
